Flipboard bought its competitor Zite

Flipboard decided to buy and absorb its competitor Zite to offer an experience that blends the best of both applications.

It is well known, the best technique to get rid of an enemy is to make an ally. This is a test the principle chosen to apply Flipboard by buying its competitor Zite. Both services allow you to create custom content retrieved from the Web virtual magazines. Flipboard and Zite are among the most popular applications in their genre. First, because it is the reference and introduced much of existing codes. The second, because it belongs to CNN, which gives it a good strike force, and it offers intelligent technologies.

Ergonomics and technology
But the competition is now closed: Flipboard bought and absorbs Zite. The new sadden fans of Zite because the application will no longer be updated and will tend to disappear. The amount of the transaction has not been officially announced. However, Laurie Segall of CNN said it was 60 million dollars.
