The iPhone 6S has a smaller battery...

A larger battery does not always mean that autonomy is best.

In the Apple culture, the characteristics are less important than in the Android culture. Therefore, it is not surprising that the details like the size of the iPhone battery 6S were not revealed during the keynote of Cupertino held September 9.

However, Apple has forgotten to hide the fact that the iPhone 6S actually has a smaller battery compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 6. The information was revealed by this promotional video of the 3D Touch technology. On the exploded view, we see the battery and above it is 1715 mAh, while the iPhone 6S is 1810 mAh.

Most techno media agree that Apple was forced to reduce the battery size to have space for new components, particularly those that allow for 3D Touch functionality. And as you may know already, at Apple, they sacrifice autonomy to preserve the elegance of the design.

But should we believe the iPhone will 6S poorer autonomy from the iPhone 6? No. During his Keynote, Apple said the iPhone 6S has the same autonomy as its predecessor, is "14 hours in 3G."

The difference is 95 mAh, which is not really significant. Some would say that it is negligible.

But above all, we can imagine that since the iPhone 6S is an upgrade of the iPhone 6, the new chipset used by Apple and the iOS operating system 9 have been developed to compensate for these 95 mAh less.

Of course, all this remains hypothetical. Only a benchmark allow us to be certain. However, Samsung, for example, has placed a smaller battery than the Galaxy Note 4 in the Note 5. Yet a benchmark realized by our colleagues PhoneArena has shown that the new Galaxy Note takes longer. So, a priori, there will be no (new) #BatteryGate.
