Mark Zuckerberg: "The U.S. Government should be the champion of the web, not a Threat."

Mark Zuckerberg raised his voice against the practices of the U.S. government in terms of cyber-surveillance.

Since the beginning of the revelations about the activities of the NSA, no web giant has certainly been as explicit in his opposition to the practice of cyber-surveillance  Washington. It is via his Facebook profile that the founder of social network is expressed. Status has a taste of frustration but also indignation.

CEO of Facebook says that the web needs to be secure to stay "strong." And this is why Facebook encrypts communications using secure protocols, etc.. But the founder says frustrated and confused by the "repeated revelations" about the behavior of the U.S. government. "When our engineers work tirelessly to improve safety, we imagine protect yourself against criminals, not our own government [...] The U.S. government should be the champion of the web, not a threat, " he added.

He called Obama, but ...

Mark Zuckerberg bluntly called the U.S. president - information that was confirmed by the White House - to express this frustration, and to discuss the damage caused by the U.S. government.

But he said "it looks like it will take a very long time for a real comprehensive reform" . Words that suggest that his exchange with the President of the United States was not very conclusive.

"Fake Facebook" to hack users :

What Mark Zuckerberg may have failed to mention in his status is that recently, the online magazine The Intercept has released new revelations (based on documents Snowden). The long section of independent website evokes the NSA program called TRIBUNE, which serve to infect computers in mass to extract data. And these revelations indicate that "in some cases, the NSA is hidden behind a false Facebook server, using the social media site as a launching pad to infect the computer of the target and exfiltrate files from a hard disk" . Prejudicial information pulled up the founder of a number of social networking at the highest level.

The call (a little late) Mark Zuckerberg :

"It is up to us - all of us - to build the Internet we want" . This sentence is one of those who complete the status of Mark, who agrees (with Facebook) to participate in the construction of the internet which he speaks.

Besides jumping mood CEO of Facebook, there is also a new movement that is created on the internet. Initiated by the group Fight for the Future, the movement "Reset The Net" celebrate on June 5 in a rather special way. As a reminder, this is the date of the first Edward Snowden, the day everything changed revelation.
